| So I finally got around to installing the Z Speed Performance Heavy Duty Clutch Fork I got as part of my Father’s Day present from my son and wife (kid’s only 7 months old and already buying Z parts on credit, we’ve got a future addict on our hands :) ). My wife asked me what kind of Z parts I’d like for FD (she rules) so I suggested the clutch fork and solid shifter bracket. Why? I’ve had a miserable grind in 1-2, 2-3, pretty much everywhere since I installed my new clutch in 09. Always had a bitch of a time getting it adjusted properly, even after I was certain there was no air in the lines. So the HD fork seemed like the perfect solution, and the solid shifter mount was the icing on the cake :) Carlos came over to assist as he had a sneaky method which involved going through the starter hole and the clutch fork hole. He had replaced his OEM clutch fork like this, but after an hour of trying, we determined it was not feasible to try the HD fork in this manner. So we dropped the tranny and installed it. With the tranny out it’s a flawless fit and super easy install. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to anyone getting a clutch other than stock. During a clutch job is the ideal time to do it. Comes with its own pivot ball and retainer spring, and you can notice the heft of the fork instantly compared to the cheap stamped steel OEM one. Cast Iron ZSP fork: (that is SOLID cast iron, only recess for the pivot ball)

Driving impressions, though limited, are stellar. No more grinding in any gear even when cold, definitely makes driving the car fun again. I haven’t boosted and shifted yet, because when lowering the car I crushed my flashlight and popped off an IC hose. Booooooo. So I’ll just have to handle that some weekend when I finally get around to installing my BDE GHKs I built months ago. We finished late last night, so I didn’t get to inspect or snap pics of my old clutch fork. But even if not obviously damaged, it was definitely deflecting. Car shifts perfectly now. Thanks Joe for an amazing product which was definitely needed for the Z32. I think I’ll be ordering your front splash shield soon, as my HPPS hose decided to go all Seppuku on me. Z Speed Heavy Duty Clutch Fork I didn’t get to install the solid shifter mount because time was short, but I’ll add that to my intercooler fixing weekend. Really looking forward to that as well, as I've never been disappointed with anything Joe makes/sells.
